Take the RIC 10-Year Review Online Survey
On Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Sunday, January 22, a paper survey from the RIC Committee was distributed. We are now offering an anonymous online version here. Thank you in advance for participating!
Also, here is a link to a useful resource from ReconcilingWorks: Lutheran Introduction to our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Neighbors.
Can you sew or tie a simple knot? Don’t know how to sew? We’ll teach you! Discover the fun of quilting with us as we make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Join us Saturday, February 18 at 9:00am in the Overflow Room. Many of our quilters meet every Wednesday morning at 9am in the Overflow Room. Some of our helpers cannot sew, but they can tie together the quilt layers. Other quilters sew at home and bring in their quilt tops. For more information, contact Margaret Jordan.
Sign Up for Lenten Meals and Serving
This year, we are asking the congregation to provide leadership for the Wednesday soup suppers. This will include providing set-up, soup, sandwiches, desserts, and clean-up. There is a sign-up sheet in the pavilion. For more information, please contact Gary Blank.
Disaster Response Team Update
The Disaster Response Team (DRT) is updating the database of members who can assist during emergency situations. The team recently handed out information forms after worship services and asks that you return completed forms to the box located in the pavilion or in the DRT mailbox. You may also complete the form online. (It takes a couple of minutes, promise!) Extra forms are available in the pavilion on the podium.
The DRT will provide a “hot-line” during emergency situations and match available helpers with requested needs. Thank you for your willingness to support those in need during times of emergencies.
CPR & AED Training
The Disaster Response Team (DRT) is planning to hold First Aid training classes in the spring to include CPR and use of a defibrillator (the church has an AED.) The classes last only for a few hours and you will receive certification from the American Red Cross.
Church staff, ushers, teachers, and committee members are all encouraged to attend and get certified. We are especially interested in getting folks certified who can provide assistance at the church. There will be a slight charge for the classes due to the need for equipment and trainers. Contact Mike Kelly to let him know your interest so that classes can be scheduled.
2016 Year-End Giving Statements
Final year-end statements were emailed at the end of January. Statements for those who don't have email were mailed by 2/1. Please contact Leanne Brisbin for any questions or concerns related to your statement or any giving matters, including needing a printed statement, Simply Giving instructions, transferring stock/funds to the church, or other needs.
