Ministries Committees

Campus Ministry

The Lutheran Campus Ministry (LCM) Committee provides members the unique opportunity to support students from surrounding universities and colleges through the Lutheran Student Movement (LSM) here in Raleigh. We support the students by making sure Wednesday night meals are provided for them and by helping with their graduation banquet. In 2007,we had the pleasure of helping sponsor nine students as they traveled to Mexico for a mission trip during their Spring break. The goals of the LCM Committee are to continue to provide support for LSM-Raleigh to the best of our ability and consider possible ways to make LSM-Raleigh more visible to students. We encourage each member of the committee to come up with a new, exciting idea to share with the rest of the committee for implementation in the coming year

Centennial Celebration Task Force

The 100th Anniversary of Holy Trinity will be celebrated in July 2012. That time will come quickly! Teams are forming under the leadership of Sharon Freeze to plan, organize, and implement our celebration. Join a team to help make our celebration everything you want it to be.

Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministry Committee coordinates activities and events for children from birth through grade five and their families, including Agapé Day Camp, Children’s Library, Hungry Souls’ Café, and the Pickle Jar Offering during the Children’s Message in support of the Urban Ministries food pantry.

Other activities include the Valentine’s tea with children and seniors of the congregation, an Easter egg hunt, Summer Sunday Church School program, family potluck, annual pool party, Blessing of the Animals, Trunk or Treat, Christmas cookie swap, and Singing Saints. While the committee steers all events, we are indebted to the many parents who contribute in essential ways to make this ministry a success.

Christian Education

The goal of the Christian Education Committee is to meet the Christian education needs of all members, youngest to oldest, of Holy Trinity. To accomplish this goal, we work closely with the Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Adult Christian Education committees to coordinate Sunday Church School curricula, recruit Sunday School teachers, offer Confirmation ministry for our middle school youth, and coordinate and offer other educational opportunities, such as the Arndt Library, as appropriate.

Close Knitters

Close Knitters is a group of volunteers who knit or crochet prayer shawls, either at home or at their monthly meeting at Holy Trinity. These prayer shawls are blessed and distributed to those who need to feel an extra measure of God’s love surrounding them in times of difficulty.

Columbarium

The Columbarium Committee manages the sale of Columbarium space and assigns all niches; maintains accurate, permanent records; and notifies representatives of the deceased of any relocation plans. One of our goals is to inform and educate church members about the cremation process and the Columbarium.
